Joining Forces
The University at Buffalo’s Department of Theatre & Dance and LehrerDance have formed a partnership. This collaboration brings together higher education and the world of professional concert dance, with both groups benefiting. UB dance students can take weekly classes in the LehrerDance technique, and Jon Lehrer, the company’s founder, or a company member will set choreographic works on the University’s Zodiaque Dance Company and Ensemble Company.
Additionally, an observership will be offered to two senior dance majors, giving them the opportunity to learn company repertoire while gaining valuable insight into the professional dance world. The LehrerDance Company will use UB’s rehearsal space during academic calendar breaks and will make the Center for the Arts’ dance studios its home during the summer.
