Karl Rogers and Leigh Lotocki in Gravity's Ripple (2009), choreographed by Annie Kloppenberg (by Dublin Arts Council Staff)
A steep hill, a river, eager dancers, and the force of gravity become one choreographer’s playground when the Dublin Arts Council (DAC), OhioDance, and the Ohio State University Department of Dance present Gravity’s Ripple II. Choreographer Julie Fox, selected from a pool of emerging Ohio-based artists, will create a 40-minute site-specific work on the bank of the Scioto River in Dublin, OH, to be performed Sept. 16 by OSU dance students. Fox plans to explore themes of nature, the ecosystem, and the current green movement. Dress rehearsal and opening night are free and open to the public. A second performance is coupled with DAC’s wine-tasting fundraiser, Sept. 17. See www.dublinarts.org and www.ohiodance.org.
